Dr Howard Stoate has taken part in a Parliamentary debate on the findings of the Health Select Committee's recent report into alcohol and its effects on society.  Dr Stoate is a member of the Health Committee and contributed heavily to the creation of the report.

Dartford MP, and practising GP, Dr Howard Stoate has held an adjournment debate with the Health Minister on the important role that self care can play in improving health outcomes in the UK, and in allowing GPs to provide more care to patients with more serious or long-term conditions.

Dr Stoate has added his support to a Parliamentary Motion seeking to draw attention to the British Association for Adoption and Fostering's campaign to draw attention to the role of private fostering and its importance.

Dartford MP and practising GP, Dr Howard Stoate has questioned Health Ministers on the issue of the NHS appraisal toolkit for GPs, used by doctors to help them prepare for appraisals and starting from next year, reaccreditation by the GMC.

Local MP and practising GP, Dr Howard Stoate has tabled a Parliamentary Motion welcoming a report by the Royal College of Nursing highlighting the impact and importance that specialist nurses play in modern healthcare.

Dr Stoate has participated in a debate on the subject of forced child migration during the 1960s, in which Prime Minister Gordon Brown issued an official apology for the actions of previous British governments.  Dr Stoate has long been a supporter of the Child Migrants Trust and along with colleagues such as Kevin Barron, has long called for an official apology.  For details of the debate, and Dr Stoate's comments, please click the read more button.
