Stoate pleased by Arriva pledge

Dartford MP Dr Howard Stoate has welcomed the commitments given by Arriva following his recent meeting with the company to discuss the poor levels of bus service in Hartley.

Arriva have confirmed that they are making significant efforts to deal with the issue of punctuality, something which should be aided by the use of newer, and more reliable buses on to the routes which servce Hartley.

Furthermore, the company went on to add that it close to confirming a significant increase in the frequency of the 423 bus route, which would result in the number of daily buses almost doubling from October 2007.

Dr Stoate commented that, "I am hopeful that the promises made by Arriva will result in a discernable improvement in the quality of the bus service that residents in Hartley receive.  However, in order to ensure that these improvements are being made I would ask users of the service to contact me if problems continue so that I can ensure that Arriva are made aware and pressure them to ensure the service does improve."
