Stoate launches campaign to save Dartford's Post Offices Dr Stoate has today launched a campaign to try and preserve Post Office services in Dartford following the announcement that offices in Mead Road, Temple Hill Square and Wilmington are all being considered for closure.
Royal Mail is currently consulting on plans to close these offices as part of its process of restructuring.
Commenting on the proposals, Dr Stoate said, "I am very disappointed by these proposals and am deeply concerned by the impact closures will have on local residents. All three Post Offices provide a valuable service, particularly to the elderly, who will now be forced to travel to central Dartford to use the postal service."
"I am asking local residents affected by these proposals to contact me and express their opinions on this issue so that I can ensure that the Royal Mail is made fully aware of local feeling."
