MP demands council address parking problems in Greenhithe

Local MP Dr Howard Stoate has called on Dartford Borough Council to urgently address parking problems experienced by residents in parts of Greenhithe.

A large number of people living around Greenhithe station have recently contacted Dr Stoate to complain about the problems caused by commuter parking in the area.  Residents have suggested that roads are becoming inaccessible, and fear that emergency vehicles would be unable to access many houses on the worst affected roads.

As a result of these worries, Dr Stoate has called on the local council to investigate possible solutions to the problem.  "I believe that the Council has a number of potential options.  Personally I feel the best solution would involve a short term parking restriction being imposed, similar to schemes used around stations in Bexley.  For perhaps one or half an hour each day, parking restrictions would be enforced.  I believe this would prevent commuters parking in the area all day."

"I have taken this matter up with the local council and urged them to find a solution."

If you would like to comment on the parking issue around Greenhithe station then please do email Dr Stoate with your thoughts and suggestions.
