MP concerned about the future of the Queen Elizabeth Resource Centre

Dr Howard Stoate has expressed concerns about the proposals by Kent County Council to close the Queen Elizabeth Resource Centre, a facility which currently provides services to assistance to large number of disabled people from both Dartford and Gravesend.

"A number of local people have contacted my office to raise this issue, and I realise the importance that this facility has for many local residents.  I have contacted both KCC and the Queen Elizabeth Foundation regarding this matter, and whilst I have received responses from both, neither provides a great deal of clarity about the future."

"I have therefore arranged to meet with representatives of KCC to discuss the matter and the more general issue of care provision within the county.  I am asking that those people who use the QERC or who have relatives who benefit from the services it provides contact me and provide me with their thoughts on the current situation, and what they believe represents the best way forward."

Further information regarding the outcome of this meeting will be posted as and when it becomes available.
