Dartford student attends Downing Street reception with local MP

Dartford MP, Dr Howard Stoate and Dartford Technology College Student, 17 year old Kathryn Esson, attended a 10 Downing Street reception for young people last night hosted by the Prime Minister.

Kathryn, who helps to run an after school football club for younger Dartford Technology College Students and teaches the College’s Year 7 intake at a summer school, was nominated for the reception by DTC Headteacher, Trish Burleigh.

Dr Stoate said; “The reception was organised by Downing Street to celebrate the significant contribution that young people up and down the country are making to their communities. Over the years Kathryn has given up an enormous amount of her own time to help other students within the college and is an outstanding role model for others. I was delighted therefore to mark Kathryn’s achievements by inviting her to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister.”
