That this House congratulates the General Medical Council (GMC) on its work in developing the standards of conduct expected of the medical profession which are recognised as an international exemplar; welcomes the GMC's new edition of Good Medical Practice and its increased emphasis on the importance of an effective doctor-patient partnership to enable the delivery of high quality heathcare; notes that it has been written following wide ranging consultation; supports the GMC's nationwide poster campaign to ensure that patients are made aware of doctors' commitment to a partnership with them; and encourages the prominent display of the Good Medical Practice poster in all general practices, clinics and hospitals across the UK.
