EDM 1450 - Mind's Ecotherapy campaign 14.05.2007
Loughton, Tim
That this House congratulates Mind on its report Ecotherapy-the green agenda for mental health; notes the enormous benefit that physical activity in a natural environment, such as gardening, walking, conservation work, running and cycling, can have on a person's mental well-being; further notes the relative cost-effectiveness of ecotherapy compared to other treatments; and wishes Mind well in its campaign to raise awareness of the proven benefits for mental health of green exercise amongst service users, GPs, primary care trusts, local health boards, local authorities, mental health professionals and town planners. |
