MP welcomes launch of Cook Me - Eat Me

Dartford MP, Dr Howard Stoate visited the Discovery Centre in Swanscombe today for the launch of ‘Cook me – Eat Me’ a Children’s healthy recipe calendar for 2005.

The calendar has been produced by children from 12 schools across Dartford and Gravesham and has been produced by the ‘Don’t Sit Get Fit!’ programme and The GRAND project with funding from Kent Children’s Fund. Each of the schools involved has been responsible for choosing a healthy recipe for inclusion in the calendar.

Dr Stoate, who co-wrote the Foreward to the Calendar with Gravesham MP Chris Pond, said “I was very pleased to be asked to contribute to this calendar. It’s an interesting and novel concept and I’m sure that it will prove extremely popular amongst children and adults alike.”

“The schools involved have clearly put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into the project and have come up with some original and eye-catching recipes which manage to be both appetising and healthy.”

Note

Other Dartford schools to take part were Sweyne School, Bean Primary School and Temple Hill Community School.
